Privacy Policy
This policy describes how SurgiNotes (the "App"), published by Unstoppable Scrub LLC ("we", "us"), handles your information. SurgiNotes is a reference app for surgical technologists, available on iOS and Android.
Information we collect
Account information. You sign in with an email address and password, managed by Firebase Authentication (a Google service). We do not offer social sign-in and we never see your password.
Content you create. Your favorites, custom procedures and instruments, procedure notes and overrides, Mayo stand setups, preference cards, and procedure photos are stored on your device and synced to our servers so they follow you across devices. This data is linked to your account and is private to you.
Instrument photos (AI identify). If you use the instrument-identification feature, the photo you take is resized on your device and sent to our server, which uses Google Gemini to identify the instrument. The photo and its result are saved to your private Scan History so you can revisit them. Photograph surgical instruments only — never patients, faces, screens, or anything containing patient information.
Subscription status. If you subscribe, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We receive and validate the purchase receipt to activate your subscription; we never receive your payment card details.
What we don't collect
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs run in the App.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites.
- We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for marketing.
- No location data or biometric data.
Push notifications
The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver occasional broadcast announcements. These are sent to all users who allow notifications; we do not target notifications at individuals. You can disable them in your device settings at any time.
Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the App, each only for the purpose stated:
- Google Firebase — authentication and push notifications
- Google Gemini — instrument photo identification
- Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription billing
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Delete account), which irreversibly removes all of your data from our servers along with your sign-in account. You can also request deletion by email — see our account deletion page.
Residual copies in server backups are removed within 30 days.
Children
SurgiNotes is a professional reference tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
You can view and edit your content in the App, and delete your account and data as described above. For access requests or anything else, contact us and we will help.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and revise the effective date above.
